At Movement Custom Homes, our priority is to make the design and home building process a positive experience for everyone involved. Our goals at Movement Custom Homes are not to build the most homes possible, but to build quality experiences, quality products and quality relationships. We pride ourselves on being transparent and honest with trade partners, municipalities, and homeowners. We also take pride in doing everything in our power to bring projects to completion on time and on budget.

Our Process

01. Discovery

Meeting between you and us to discuss our process and experience in detail, as well as your vision for your dream home.

02. Schematic Design

Parter with an award-winning architect and Movement Custom Homes to transfer your vision onto paper and renderings until you are comfortable that the team is all envisioning the same design. This is the first step in bringing your vision to life.

03. Design

Work with an experienced design team and Movement Custom Homes to compile a set of construction plans that includes every special details of your completely customized home design. This generally takes between 3-6 months.

04. Budgeting

The beneft of Movement Custom Homes being involved in the design process is that we can be there to make sure your project is staying within your budget. Our involvement in the design process also allows us to address any lengthy supply chain issues with construction materials early on, so that we can prevent any delays in the construction schedule during building.

05. Contracting

Once the design is complete, all contracts will be executed and Movement Custom Homes will provide a details construction schedule, so you can plan your life accordingly while waiting for the construction of your dream home to be completed. We will also assist in any city/county permitting processes if desired.


06. Construction

Movement Custom Homes will do everything in our power to bring the vision of your dream home to life on time and on budget. We remain transparent throughout this process and take pride in over communicating with you as construction takes place.

Nick Timberlake, P.E.

Director of Preconstruction

Nick is a professional civil engineer with over a decade of experience in engineering, project management, construction, and development. He has personally been involved in design and construction of infrastructure, institutional, industrial, apartment and residential projects totaling over $200M in value. Nick has expertise in platting, zoning, infrastructure, municipal ordinances, utilities, and many methods of construction.


Nick was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri and still lives there today with his wife Cayla, his daughters Sophia and Sutton, and their dog Rileigh. In his free time, Nick enjoys any kind of adventure with his friends and family – hunting, skiing, scuba diving, cheering on the Tigers and hanging out at the lake and the family farm.

Brandon Vogel

Director of Construction

Brandon has over a decade of experience as a business owner in the residential remodeling and construction industries across mid-Missouri. He has managed projects ranging from the most complex remodeling projects to new ground-up homes. He has built a reputation as a leader with a wealth of knowledge and experience in handling complex construction challenges with integrity and professionalism.


Brandon is a native of Marshall, Missouri where he grew up in a farming family. Today he lives in Columbia, Missouri with his wife Cortney, son Creed, daughter Blakely and dogs Molly and Gizmo. In his free time, Brandon looks for any excuse to get outdoors with family and friends – hunting, fishing, and hanging out at the lake.
